A little Miu Miu & Long Island Iced Tea for Two.

Miu Miu’s 2012 RST collection, pictured above at the 57th street shop, is a little bit punchy, a lot a bit girly, and a whole bag of fun. With all of the bows, crystals, headbands, and lace, it’s as if Ms. Muiccia designed her sickkk collection after having tea in Wonderland with Lady Alice herself. And the collection, much like Alice in Wonderland, is a contradiction in itself, riddling the senses and screaming at artistic convention. It is raw yet refined, loud yet muted, youthful yet vintage; it is Betsey Johnson meets Lagerfeld, and oh what a chic paradox it is.
I just can’t figure out whether the Miu Miu 2012 resort girl is hitting punky dive bars on the LES or whether she is a modern “lady who lunches,” breaking tradition and venturing out of the UES from time to time. It is hard to tell really and I guess I will just have to make peace with the fact that she is both uptown and downtown, she is Heart & Lykke Li, Lit Lounge & The Madison Room. I mean in the end, its all Wonderland, right?

Thanks for that, i have seen a miu miu jacket online, and it states that it comes in a size 8 (its in the sale, so that is the only size available). in normal clothing eg topshop/h&m i am a small 10, normally an 8. however, as designers are infamous for living in their own little world when it comes to sizing, will this jacket fit me? any people who have miu miu clothing, please reply

Hi Long Island Wine Country Hotel thanks for the inquiry! There are several factors at play here. Normally I don’t pay much attention to sizing as I do fit, but because it is an online purchase here are some tips.
A bolero style is more fashion than function and you’re not going to be wearing it closed or for warmth, so if it is snug it’s totally do-able. (Try layering over thinner fabrics like silk, or sleeveless tops if it too tight). Remember you can always make alterations to the garment like having the lining adjusted and arm holes opened which helps immensely.
Under normal “non Miu Miu sale” circumstances I would advise trying on in store before purchasing, but you sound like an 8/10 and the size 8 should be just fine.
So I say go for the piece and keep me posted on how it works out!
